The International Window Film Association (IWFA) is excited to announce the return of National Window Film Day on April 30. This annual observance celebrates the vital role window film plays in protecting people from harmful UV rays, with proclamations issued by governors and mayors across the U.S. Over the past decade, more than 30 state leaders have recognized April 30 as National Window Film Day, including those in Virginia, where the IWFA is headquartered.
This year, the IWFA is spotlighting its ongoing collaboration with the Skin Cancer Foundation to raise awareness about skin cancer prevention. As part of Skin Cancer Awareness Month, which begins on May 1, the organizations are working together to educate the public about the risks of UV exposure and the protective benefits of window films. Skin Cancer Awareness Month is an important occasion for both individuals and healthcare organizations to share information on prevention and early detection of skin cancer.
The IWFA and the Skin Cancer Foundation have partnered for several years to highlight the significant role window film texas can play in shielding people from harmful UV radiation. Professionally installed window films can block up to 99% of UV rays, which helps reduce skin damage and protects home furnishings. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, UV radiation is one of the leading causes of skin cancer in the U.S. and around the world.
Lisa Winckler, IWFA Technical Consultant and a key advocate in the partnership since 2023, reflected on the successful collaboration, saying, “We’ve seen great success in educating consumers about the protective benefits of window film. From our Education Day event in Orlando to co-branded initiatives, the Skin Cancer Foundation has been instrumental in spreading the word.”
